"Election of deputies of village, settlement and city councils, or people´s deputies at the national level constitutes citizens´ right and responsibility", - stated Olexandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, at the round-table discussion dedicated to the issues of reforming the local self-government, which was organized by the newspaper "Holos Ukrainy".
He believes that "a plenty of time will pass, until our compatriots will realize their own responsibility for their choice either at the level of their village, or within the scope of the whole country". O.Lavrynovych implied that current crises processes in Ukraine "refer to the responsibility of those who elected such authorities both at the local and national levels".
The First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine commented on the financial and organizational support of early elections to The Verkhovna Rada scheduled for 7 December. He stated: "The Bill on amendments to the State Budget in the part of funding national and local elections of 7 December has been submitted to the Parliament a long time ago. It was registered and is to be scrutinized in due time". However, its adoption on 21 October will depend on the wish of a particular faction to block the Parliament´s work and on the persistence of other factions in realization of their rights.
